A levelling system has four moving parts: what earns XP (messages, voice minutes, or both),
the cooldown that stops spam farming it, the curve from XP to level, and the role rewards
attached to levels.

Exclusions matter as much as the curve — most servers want XP disabled in bot-command channels
and for muted or deafened members in voice.
