What it is
A Battle Pass is a time-boxed season in which members complete quests, quest completions pay Battle Pass XP, XP fills numbered tiers, and each tier can hold rewards the member claims. Seasons move through draft, active and ended states, with only one active at a time. Battle Pass XP is stored entirely separately from Leveling XP and never touches it.
The problem it solves
Leveling and Streaks both reward one behaviour over an unbounded horizon, which eventually stops motivating anyone — a member at a high level has nothing left to chase. A season is a bounded contest with a visible finish line and a fresh start, and quests direct effort toward behaviours an operator actually wants — voice time, channel breadth, reactions, helping in tickets, reviewing applications, suggesting ideas — rather than message volume alone.
How it works
Progress from any quest-eligible action is measured and credited toward the member’s current season, filtered first by anti-farm protection — a per-member cooldown, identical-message deduplication and an optional no-XP role, run under a key prefix kept deliberately separate from Streaks’ own so the two systems can never race for the same cooldown slot.
The tier curve is flat, then accelerates. Every tier costs the same base amount of XP up to a plateau point, then each tier beyond it costs progressively more — a season can override the base cost, the late-game bonus, and the total tier count.
Prestige rewards finishing the whole pass. Once enabled, completing every tier and continuing to earn XP adds a prestige level for every further full pass worth of XP, giving committed members somewhere to keep going after tier 50.
Claiming is manual, quest mutation is locked once a season goes live. A tier’s rewards are not granted automatically the moment its XP threshold is crossed — the member claims them, and the claim history is tracked per member. Once a season is active, its quests are frozen: no further quest change can retroactively invalidate progress a member has already earned.

| Weekly XP cap | any non-negative integer | 8,000 |

Quests — eleven types
Message count, voice time, reaction count, channel diversity, help-a-ticket, review an application, contribute to starboard, participate in counting, invite a member, boost the server, suggest an idea. Each quest is assigned to one of three buckets — daily, weekly or seasonal — with its own target, XP reward, optional channel/role scope and cooldown. A hardcoded preset library of ready-made quests is readable on every tier, including Starter, though adding one to a season requires the same gate as any other quest.
Reward types
Each tier’s rewards can be a Discord role, a custom embed message, or a role icon — up to 25 reward items per tier.
Tier availability
| Capability | Starter | Basic | Max | Black |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Reading the config, browsing the season and the quest preset library | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Enabling Battle Pass, mutating config, season create/activate/clone/end, claiming | — | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Custom quest builder (adding quests to a draft season) | — | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Custom quests persisted per season | 0 | 10 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Seasons per server (draft + active; ended seasons never count against the cap) | 0 | 1 | 3 | Unlimited |
| Tiers per season | 50 | 50 | 50 | 50 |
| Rewards per tier | 25 | 25 | 25 | 25 |
Starter gets a genuine preview — reading, browsing the preset library — but every write path requires Basic. Downgrading below Basic never deletes a season, its quests or member progress; it pauses the pass, and everything reactivates on the next upgrade.
Commands
None. Battle Pass has no slash command. Members track and interact with it through the dashboard and through the bot’s own notification DMs and channel announcements.
Dashboard surface
Server side: /server/:id/battle-pass — a Quick Start action, a Seasons area, a Quests tab
backed by the preset library, a Rewards tab for tier rewards and the top-rank role, and a Settings
tab for appearance and notifications.
Member side: /dashboard/my-battle-pass — a server picker and a per-server state view showing
current tier, XP, prestige and claimable rewards.
Permissions required
| Need | Bot permission |
|---|---|
| Tier, prestige and top-rank role grants | Manage Roles, with the reward role below the bot’s own highest role |
| Announcements | Send Messages in each configured channel |
| Configuring | The dashboard’s standard server auth plus an active Basic-or-higher subscription |
What it connects to
- Depends on the Command Management module toggle in Server Setup.
- Independent of Streaks — separate storage, separate cache keys, separate anti-farm counters, by deliberate design.
- Independent of Leveling XP — Battle Pass XP lives in its own store and is never touched by a Membership multiplier.
- Sources quest progress from across the platform — Messages, Voice, Reactions, Tickets, Applications, Starboard, Counting, Invites, server boosts and Suggestions — making it the widest cross-feature quest surface in the product.
- Feeds the member-side My Battle Pass dashboard page.
Who it is for
Servers that already have real activity and need to direct it — established communities, gaming communities running seasons alongside a game’s own calendar, and content or creator servers with a release cadence a season can be tuned to. It needs a Basic subscription and someone willing to design quests, so it rewards an active operator rather than working unattended.
Practical use cases
Match the game’s season. A 30-day season whose end date lines up with the game’s own, so the server’s rewards land the same week the game’s do.
Push voice and breadth, not volume. Weight voice-time and channel-diversity quests heavily, so tiers reward the behaviour that actually builds a community rather than raw message count.
Reward the people who help. Ticket-help and application-review quests mean support staff and reviewers earn Battle Pass progress from work they were already doing.
Keep late joiners in the race. Enable the catch-up boost so a member starting in week three still has a real route to the top tiers instead of writing the season off.
How it compares
The comparison worth making is not feature depth against a rival battle-pass system — it is that this category barely exists among leveling products at all.
| Product | Seasonal / battle-pass track | Prestige | Cross-feature quests |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vetox | Yes — up to 50 tiers, requires Basic | Yes, optional | 11 quest types across Tickets, Applications, Starboard, Counting, Invites, Boosts, Suggestions |
| Arcane | Not offered | — | — |
| Amari | Not offered | — | — |
| Tatsu / Lurkr / ActivityRank | Not offered | — | — |
None of the five dedicated leveling specialists examined in this research — Arcane, Amari, Tatsu, Lurkr or ActivityRank — ships anything resembling a seasonal track. Each of them offers a single accumulating XP counter and stops there; not one has a scheduled event, a streak, or a battle pass. That absence spans two independent research passes with different competitor sets, which makes it one of the better-evidenced findings in this category: Battle Pass, like Streaks, is not out-competing a rival feature so much as occupying design space the leveling category has left completely open. The trade-off worth stating plainly is price: Arcane covers unlimited role rewards and voice XP together for a flat monthly fee with no seasonal layer at all, and a server that only wants deep, simple leveling — no seasons, no quests — may find that a more direct fit than building out a Battle Pass season.
