Onboarding
Discord’s native first-run flow, where a joining member picks interests and gets channels and roles accordingly. Available to Community-enabled servers at no cost.
Onboarding replaces the older pattern of a rules channel plus a reaction-role post, and it runs before the member reaches the server rather than after.
Its limit is that it is a one-time flow with no follow-up: it can route a member to the right channels but cannot notice that they never posted in any of them.
